The specialist visit is in three weeks and you cannot remember when the flare started, how long the last one lasted, or when the dose changed. Timelines draws the year as one long grid, a column per day: every episode, treatment and appointment is a bar as long as it lasted, with the notes you wrote along the way. On your device, with no account, until you decide otherwise.
How it works.
Four moves, and the first three never need an account or a connection.
Add the episode as a bar.
A title, the day it started, the day it ended if it has, an emoji and a colour. A category if you keep them: symptoms, medication, visits. An episode that is still going runs to today until you close it.
Write on it, on the day.
Every event has a list of dated notes in Markdown. The dose, the side effect, what the doctor said. Add one today, another next week, edit them later. The note keeps its place on the year instead of scattering across a notebook.
Look at the year before the visit.
Bars sit on the days they cover, cross the year boundary, and stack when they overlap. Filter by category, search titles and notes, step by month or by year. Bring the phone to the appointment and answer "since when?" by pointing at it.
Decide what leaves the device.
Everything is stored in your browser first and works with no account. Sign in and each event gets its own sync switch; only what you switch on is copied to our server. Download all of it as JSON whenever you like.

Local first.
Events, notes and categories live in your browser's storage and work with no account and no connection.
Sync is per event, and it is a copy.
Switch sync on for an event and it is stored on our server in Italy under your account, with its notes, as readable fields: the server does not encrypt them beyond the connection. Nothing is analysed or shared. Switch it off and the event stays local.
Logging out clears the device.
Signing out removes every local timeline from that browser. Download a copy first; the settings page has the button.
One reader, by design.
A timeline has exactly one reader. There is no invite, no link and no public view, and that is not on the roadmap.
Two things to know.
Not a medical device.
Timelines records what you write and shows it on a calendar. It does not interpret, score, alert or advise, and it is not a substitute for your clinician's records. Bring it to the visit as your own notes, which is what it is.
No account, no email, no tracker.
The app works without signing up. If you sync, an account is a username and a password; an email is optional and only for password recovery. The app loads no analytics and no third-party script.
Free on your device. Backup when you need a second one.
Everything local is free without limits. Sync is the only thing with a server behind it, so it is the only thing with a price: 25 events a year free, a thousand on Backup.

Questions people ask.
Do I need an account?
Not to use it. The whole app works locally. An account is needed only to copy events to the server so another device or a reinstall can pick them up.
What does sync actually send?
The events you switched on, with their notes and category names, as data. It is stored readable on our server in Italy and returned to your account on request; nothing is analysed, indexed or shared.
Can I print it or hand it to my doctor?
There is no print or PDF export. Show the year on your phone at the visit, or download the JSON and keep it with your records.
Can I move a backup to a new phone?
Yes, two ways. Download the JSON from the old device and import it on the new one; imported events start as local. Or, with synced events, sign in on the new device and they come back.
Can an episode span more than one year?
Yes. The bar runs off the edge of one year and continues on the next.
